Rites of Passage

The Impact of Rites of Passage

Hello, awesome ones. As always, I am grateful for this connection. As I settle in for writing these missives, I pause and visualize you on the other side of this connection.

Whether we’ve met in person or not, I honor that this connection through Mindfood is a conscious one. You might be relaxed into reading the whole of this or you may simply skim. I honor your sovereignty completely and accept you, and myself, just as we are in this everpresent now.

My change of season has been a dynamic one–busy with many awesome client sessions, wandering Maine nature in my RV Rosie the Roadboat, a whirlwind trip to New York City, and so far two performances of an avant-garde show I have been a part of since 2022.

For some nebulous reason in my consciousness, this shift into watching the leaves fall has the feeling of a rite of passage for me. Perhaps it’s because I turned 50 this past March. Or maybe it is because I have almost completed my next book. Of course, there is the witnessing of my adult sons as they take on challenges I remember taking on at their age. Perhaps all of the above and more.

I’ll continue my self-inquiry about it all while I embrace this energy of creating my own personal rite of passage. I feel like me, but more vibed up, more invigorated by how my choices shape my days. I see my power in a different light. I deem that worthy of a rite of passage.

Living in a culture almost bereft of celebrations of this kind, I invite you to create your own.

Rites of passage ground us in the wisdom we have and prepare us for the wisdom we will acquire.

Celebration paired with reflection makes a powerful impact. When we create our own rites of passage, we honor the ebb and flow of our lives as the unique creations they are. Your timeline, your experiences, your meaning–those are what matter most in your consciousness design.

How can you invite yourself into a time of celebration and reflection?

In what ways can you honor your evolution in preparation for more?

Have some fun with that concept and reach out to share your explorations by replying to this Mindfood.

As I close this Mindfood, I offer this autumnal view of my garden lovingly energetically tended by Om the Gnome as I sat in devotion. May it bring you a bit of pleasure. And may you revel in your evolution and the wisdom of your unique rites of passage.
