Embracing Our Humanness Analog-Style

Greetings and salutations, awesome one!

You may recognize that turn of phrase for a plethora of reasons-if you are of the GenX vintage, a connoisseur of 80s movies, perhaps a fan of Christian Slater, or all of the above. Christian Slater played an intriguing James Dean knock off named Jason Dean in the infamous dark comedy, one of my favorites, Heathers. He greets Veronica, one of the, ummm, Heathers, with this quip to lead with his rebel-with-a-cause cool on display.

Confession: I made a bold move on a plane once with this phrase.

Imagine me tickled when boarding a flight, there sat the man who played Jason Dean. Settling into a moment with Mr. Slater, I commenced conversation with that phrase.

Oh, yes I did. There was no way that wasn’t going to happen frankly and the risk paid off.

I let him know I was certainly not going to bend his ear for the whole flight, but certainly was going to take the opportunity to share that his vibe made quite an impact on me. (If that very dark humor pun was too much, just breeze on by.)

Christian (now that we were on a first-name basis) shared that he appreciated folks sharing their perspectives of his work and that he really dug it when folks shared it “analog-style.”

I had to dig in: what did he mean by that? He said that he gets messages via DMs and such, but when someone takes the time to share in-person without monopolizing his time (I am tracking you, bro) he absorbs the energy.

I found that to be rad and real. I feel the same. And yet, I still find it to be a miracle we can be connected from almost anywhere on the planet.

How might we create experiences that feel analog-style while leveraging all the technological tools we have for potent connection?

As I have been doing some creating for the Bliss Mystic Life app, I have been innovating to incorporate some analog-style connection into the app environment.

I have been playing with this perspective by developing the concept of neoprimal, recognizing the global digital nature of our world while valuing the intense humanness of analog connection and community.

Analog-style is the innovation to elevate the neoprimal vibe of consciousness design keeping us intimate with our humanity.

I flashed back to my days making zines as a riot grrrl. Still today, I cut and paste making collage art. I absolutely adore handwriting, especially cursive, and incorporate it into my art constantly.

Fully human. Deep tracks human. Analog-style. Rawr.

In an increasingly AI-generated world, how are you celebrating your humanness?

Consciousness design invites us to revel in that which is human.

We view mistakes as iterations of deep living.

We feel with intensity.

We find value in the happy accidents.

We stretch our particles out into waves.

We dream.

We create through hyperconscious reveries.

We experience the synchronicities.

We play in the multidimensionality of all our senses.

In light of our shared humanity, I offer you a just-for-Mindfoodies glimpse into the future via flashback. Know there is so much more about the neoprimal nature of consciousness design in future Mindfood editions, as well as within the app so very soon.

My newest creation, the Bliss Mystic novazine, is the entrée into the analog-style vibe for the app. This vibe was initiated as I flashed myself back to when I first remember feeling powerful, and so very human, while creating.

I’m excited to share this prelude, an aperitif for your consciousness with so much more to come.

May you revel in your humanness creating and connecting your way to the edge of your consciousness. ~K.
